Virtually all Fort Hood units have seen combat in Iraq or Afghanistan - most on their second one year assignments - - some on a third or fourth. With so many Fort Hood Soldiers now serving extended combat tours in Iraq or Afghanistan and so many others about to deploy, the Association of the Unites States Army (AUSA) is seeking to match businesses, civic organizations, churches and other groups with soldiers.
We can ease their burden and support their efforts by actively participating in the Adopt A Unit program. We can be an important support to Soldiers - and their families - if we just choose to do so.
At home, families keep the home fires burning, and await the return of their loved ones. Adopt A Unit partners can ease the burden of separation. Just knowing friends and neighbors back home are there to support your family makes a soldier’s job over there less burdensome. Learn more about Adopt-A-Unit!
