Project Tornado

News 10's Rusty Garrett has taken Project Tornado to school children across Central Texas in the past two decades. Rusty teaches severe weather safety along with the deadly history of tornados in Texas and across the country.
Each child receives a Project Tornado booklet with valuable safety information to protect their families in the event of a weather emergency.
Parents who studied tornado safety with Rusty when they were children are now watching as their children bring home Project Tornado booklets to share with their families.
Project Tornado entered the world of video teleconferencing in October, 2007 when Education Service Center for Region 12 invited Rusty to deliver his presentation on tornado safety via the internet to schools across the area.
Rusty always feels right at home in front of a television camera and now he can take his message into children's schools via the internet from Region 12's headquarters in Waco.
