AP Source: Raiders Finalize 4-Year Deal With Allen
The former Texas A&M Aggie safety standout has reached an agreement with the Oakland Raiders on a four-year deal to become their new head coach.

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) - The Oakland Raiders have agreed on a four-year deal to make Denver defensive coordinator Dennis Allen their new head coach.
A person familiar with the process said Thursday that the two sides had completed the contract. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team is not publicly discussing the search. CSNCalifornia.com first reported the length of the deal.
New general manager Reggie McKenzie had decided Tuesday to hire Allen to replace the fired Hue Jackson as head coach. Allen is Oakland's seventh head coach since 2003.
The 39-year-old Allen will be the first new Raiders coach to come from the defensive side of the ball since late owner Al Davis hired linebackers coach John Madden in 1969.
Allen play under former Texas A&M coach R.C. Slocum, becoming a standout free safety for the Aggies. Allen failed to stick with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 1996. Slocum brought him back as a graduate assistant.
Allen went from Texas A&M to Tulsa, the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints and then to Denver as their defensive coordinator.
