BRYAN (July 27, 2012) -- Corpus Christi Carroll outfielder Courtney Hawkins was the player of the year on the 58th Annual Texas Sports Writers Association 5A All-State Baseball Team.
Hawkins batted .421 with 11 home runs and 39 runs batted in. He had an .841 slugging percentage. He was drafted in the first round by the Chicago White Sox and signed with the club.
