Cameron Yoe Wins Second Straight State Championship

ARLINGTON (December 19, 2013) Traion Smith rushed for 157 yards and four touchdowns as Cameron Yoe repeated as champion of Class 2A Division I with a 35-14 victory over Wall.

On Thursday, Yoe (15-1) broke a 14-14 tie early in the fourth quarter with a 15-play, 85-yard drive capped by a 6-yard pass from quarterback Jason Kopriva to wideout Aaron Sims. Kopriva converted two third downs on the drive with passes and a fourth down on a fake-punt pass.

Smith added two touchdown runs in the final 7:09.

Yoe has won three state football titles, the other being in 1981 in Class 3A.

This was the first trip to a state football final for Wall (15-1). The Hawks' triple-option flexbone offense rushed for 279 yards, led by Brent Matschek with 107 on seven carries.
