(April 29, 2013) -- Copperas Cove head baseball coach C.J. Wilk resigned Monday from his post, effective immediately due to family reasons.
The Bulldawgs finished this season 5-23 overall, including a 2-12 district mark.
"We greatly appreciate what C.J. and his wife (S.C. Lee Junior High former assistant coach Christy Wilk) have done for our programs," Cove athletic director Jack Welch said. "They have been a joy to work with. Now, we'll open the position up and take applications to get someone on board as soon as possible."
"Being a head coach in Copperas Cove is like nowhere else," Wilk said. "Working with Jack Welch, Tracy Welch and Reb Brock has been a tremendous honor. "I'll be in the stands on game nights cheering them on."
