(May 30, 2012) -- After advancing to the state tournament for the first time ever, the Crawford Lady Pirates pulled off another first Wednesday night.

Jessica Tomchesson broke up a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single to lift the Lady Pirates to a 4-3 win over defending state champion Danbury at McCombs Field in Austin.

Crawford (35-2) moves on to its first state championship game to play Alpine. The Lady Bucks beat Mineola 4-3 in 8 innings in the early game.

The 2A State Final starts at 6:00 p.m.
