High School Coach In Texas Dies After Practice

PLANO (August 2, 2011) -- An assistant football coach at a private
high school in the Dallas area collapsed and died following the
first day of practice on Monday.

A preliminary autopsy report says heat exposure combined with a heart condition killed assistant coach Wade McLain of Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano.

The Collin County Medical Examiner's office disclosed its
finding Tuesday afternoon in the death of McLain.

An online statement from Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano
says McLain died unexpectedly Monday afternoon.

A prayer service was held Monday night for McLain, who was also
an assistant baseball coach at the school affiliated with
Prestonwood Baptist Church.

The school says McLain was married and had five children.

The National Weather Service says temperatures in the Dallas
area on Monday topped 100 degrees as a heat wave continues.
