(December 9, 2011) --- The Midway Panthers are heading to their first ever state title game.
The Panthers knock off Tyler John Tyler, in blowout fashion, 51-20 in the 4A Division I State Semifinal in Corsicana on Friday night.
Midway led 17-7 at half, thanks to a Kramer Robertson 54 yard touchdown pass to Hunter Jarmon, to give the Panthers a 10-7 lead, and a B.J. Kelly 2 yard TD run. In the third quarter, Kelly scored two more rushing touchdowns to extend the lead to 31-7, and Midway never looked back.
This was Midway's third appearance in a state semifinal, and their first victory in the Final Four.
The Panthers will face Lake Travis in the 4A Division I state title game. The contest is set for Friday, December 16 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Kickoff set for 8:00 p.m.
