(August 30, 2011) -- Midway quarterback Jordan Darling didn't have his mother cheering for him in the stands at Panther Stadium, in Midway's season opening win Friday night against Round Rock. That's because his mother, Leslie, is stationed in Afghanistan.
Members of the Midway Quarterback Club decided to show their gratitude and support for Leslie as she serves our country. The club sent a "Spirit Package" to Leslie Darling in Afghanistan
The package included a Midway Spirit Flag signed by all members of the coaching staff and all varsity football players. Also sent were a Midway cowbell, Midway blanket, Midway t-shirt, Midway cap, Waco Tribune Herald, Midway Football program and snack items.
Now Leslie can cheer her son on with those items, while listening to the game via internet.
