(June 5, 2012) -- The Robinson Rockets and West Trojans begin their quest for a state championship Wednesday, as the 3A state tournament gets underway at UFCU Disch-Falk at the University of Texas in Austin.

West (31-8) returns to the state tournament for the first time since 1999, when it won its first title in school history. The Trojans draw Sweeny in the first semifinal game at 1:00 p.m.

Robinson (29-2) makes its second consecutive appearance at the state tourney and will face Texarkana Pleasant Grove for the second straight year in the second semifinal at 4:00 p.m.

The 3A championship game will take place Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
