Shoemaker To Hire Channon Hall As Next Coach

(July 1, 2011) -- The search is over.

Killeen ISD will name former Harker Heights assistant and current Pflugerville Connally offensive coordinator Channon Hall, as the next head football coach and athletic coordinator for Shoemaker. The official announcement will come Saturday.

Hall was a former assistant under Ross Rogers at Harker Heights for six years. After Rogers retired in 2006, Hall took the offensive coordinator job at Pflugerville Connally.

Hall replaces Ken Gray who stepped down June 9 after 11 seasons coaching the Grey Wolves. Shoemaker is currently on a 22-game losing streak, the sixth-longest current skid in the state.

Heard that there were three finalists for the job.....2 with experience as successful head coaches and one with no HC experience .....guess which one they picked. I don't think they want Shoemaker to be successful. I think they want them to remain the doormat of the district.
