Stinnett's 25 Points Leads South Past North

SAN ANTONIO (July 30, 2012) -- William Stinnett scored 25 points to break open a tight game and propel the South to an easy 124-93 win over the North in the Texas High School Coaches Association Basketball All-Star game.

The South had a one-point lead at the half Monday night in San Antonio before Stinnett scored 10 points in five minutes as the South went on to outscore the North 38-25 in the second half. The 6-4 swingman from Class 3A La Vega. Stinnett has committed to McLennan Community College in Waco.

The South's scoring was the most in the contest since the North's 127 points in 1996.

Stinnett was named Most Valuable Player for the South; Jett Raines of Coppell, who's committed to Pepperdine, was the North's MVP.

Stratton Williams was carried off the court after his right knee buckled under him on a drive to the basket late in the first quarter. The 6-3 guard from Rockport-Fulton has committed to Dallas Baptist.
