AUSTIN (July 2, 2012)—Southlake Carroll High School won its third Lone Star Cup and its first in Class 5A with 100 points, the UIL announced Monday as it released the five winners of cup for the 2011-2012 school year.
Austin Lake Travis finished first in Class 4A with 112 points.
Midway High School ranked fifth in Class 4A with 78 points.
Argyle finished first in Class 3A with 94 points.
Lorena tied for ninth with La Vernia in Class 3A with 50 points.
White Oak finished first in Class 2A with 68 points.
Crawford finished eighth in Class 2A with 46 points.
In Class 1A, Lindsay won a tiebreaker with Shiner to finish first with 68 points.
The Lone Star Cup recognizes the top school in each of the five classifications based on overall team achievement in a range of sanctioned athletic and academic championships.
The program was started during the 1997-1998 season.
