Abilene (June 1, 2012) -- For the second time ever, West makes the trip down I-35 to Austin for the 3A state tournament.

The Trojans completed a two game sweep of Andrews Friday afternoon, winning 10-5 at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. West took an 3-0 lead after two innings, the Trojans getting an RBI single by Nick Kocera and plating another run with a double steal, as Lane Willenberg swiped home. Kolbey Carpenter also homered in the game.

West advances to next week's 3A state tournament. The Trojans will play at UFCU Disch-Falk Field at the University of Texas Wednesday at either 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.
