AP Little All-America Team Announced

(December 13, 2012) -- Mary Hardin-Baylor linebacker Javicz Jones was selected to the Associated Press Little All-America second team announced Thursday.

The Little All-America team honors players from Division II, III and NAIA.

Jones led the Cru with 135 total tackles this season and he also set a new school record with eight interceptions. Jones added 12.0 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, six pass break-ups, three forced fumbles and two blocked kicks. He scored four touchdowns and a safety on the year, returning two interceptions and two blocked field goals for scores. Jones is a two-time D3football.com South Region Defensive Player of the Year and also took American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors each of the past two seasons.

Shippensburg quarterback Zach Zulli and Bloomsburg running back Franklyn Quiteh are notables to make the first team.

Zulli tied a Division II record with 54 touchdowns passes, set a record for TDs responsible for with 56 and threw for 4,747 yards.

Quiteh, who was a Little All-American in 2010 as a freshman, went over 2,000 yards rushing for the second time in his career.

He leads Division II in rushing at 176.8 yards per game and has scored 24 touchdowns.

Michael Hill of St. Joseph, Mo., another Hill Trophy finalist, and the second-leading rusher in D-II behind Quiteh, was selected to the first-team.

Hill averages 154.9 yards rushing.

Mount St. Joseph running back James Clay, who leads Division III with 212 yards per game, also was a first-team selection.
