WACO (November 12, 2013) Baylor football's Big 12 road contest vs. Oklahoma State on Nov. 23 will be played at 7 p.m. CT and will be televised to a full national audience on ABC, the Big 12 Conference announced Tuesday.
BU is off to an 8-0 start to the season for the first time in program history and a 5-0 league start for the first time since 1985. The Bears are ranked No. 4 in both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Coaches Poll. That AP ranking is Baylor’s highest since 1953. The Bears are fifth in the latest edition of the BCS Standings.
The Bears currently lead the country in scoring (61.0 ppg.) and total offense (686.0 ypg.), while defensively the Bears are sixth in scoring (15.4 ppg.) and ninth in total defense (306.1 ypg.).
Oklahoma State, ranked No. 12 in the latest BCS Standings, is 8-1 on the season and 5-1 in Big 12 play. The Cowboys are riding a five-game winning streak, but will play at No. 24 Texas on Saturday, before hosting the Bears the following week.
Baylor tallied a 41-34 win over OSU to close out the regular season last year in Waco. The Cowboys lead the all-time series between the two schools 18-13, but last year’s BU win snapped a string of six straight wins for Oklahoma State. OSU holds an 11-5 advantage when the series is played in Stillwater.
The game vs. Oklahoma is Baylor’s third on the ABC/ESPN family of networks, but the first on the ABC network. BU last played on ABC on Nov. 17, 2013, when it took down BCS No. 1 Kansas State, 52-24, in Waco.
Before playing the Cowboys, Baylor will take on Texas Tech this Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. That game will start at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on FOX.
