Baylor Soccer Set for NCAA Opener at Arizona State

WACO (November 8, 2012) -- Less than a week removed from a Big 12 Championship title, the 11th-ranked Baylor soccer team will take on Arizona State in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Championship on Friday at 8 p.m. (CT) in Tempe, Ariz.

The third-seeded Bears (17-1-4), who are unbeaten in their last 18 matches, will be playing in their second straight NCAA tournament, after earning the Big 12’s automatic bid. The Sun Devils (10-8-2) will welcome BU to Sun Devil Soccer Stadium, after closing the season with four straight wins.

Friday’s match vs. Arizona State will not have an audio or video broadcast. TheSunDevils.com will provide live stats via GameTracker for the match. In-game updates will be available @BaylorFutbol on Twitter.

If Baylor wins its first round match, the Bears will advance to the NCAA’s second round for a second straight season. BU would face the winner of Georgetown (15-3-3) and Virginia Tech (13-5-1). The second-round match will take place on Friday, Nov. 16 at a site to be determined.
