Belton (April 24, 2012) -- University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball player Cameron Arnett has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Co-Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 22nd. Arnett, a senior right-hander from Belton High School, pitched a complete-game, eight-hit shutout in the Cru’s 6-0 victory over McMurry University last Friday night. Arnett struck out eight and walked just two in his final collegiate start for UMHB. He shared this week’s Pitcher of the Week honor with Texas Lutheran’s Jeff Spillane.
The UMHB baseball team finished the 2012 season with a 21-17 overall record and went 11-10 in ASC West Division play. The Cru fell one game short of claiming a berth in the ASC Championship Tournament despite winning seven of its last nine conference games.
