(November 5, 2012) -- Former Copperas Cove product and TCU wide receiver Josh Boyce was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week by the league on Monday.
Boyce had six receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns to spark TCU's 39-38 (2OT) victory at West Virginia. The junior's 94-yard touchdown catch and run with 1:28 to play forced overtime. He then made a diving catch on the game-winning two-point conversion in the second OT to give the Horned Frogs the win. Boyce also had a 31-yard TD grab in the game. His 94-yarder was the third-longest play in TCU history. The 180 receiving yards marked a career-high and his sixth-career 100-yard game. It also tied for the sixth-best single game performance in school history.
Allen Chapman from Kansas State was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, while teammate Tyler Lockett earned Special Team Player of the Week honors.
