Briles Expects Griffin to Be as Good as Before Knee Injury

WACO (January 10, 2013) -- Having to battle back from a knee injury is nothing new for Robert Griffin III.

He did it in 2009 and came back even better than he was before, but will he be able to do that again?

254 Sports spoke with Baylor head coach Art Briles Thursday. He texted RG3 after Wednesday's surgery and said his former quarterback is looking forward to getting back on the field.

RG3 was as good as advertised this season, leading the Redskins to their first division title in 13 years. He was the only offensive rookie to be selected to the Pro Bowl.

Briles said he expects Griffin to continue playing at a high level after his rehab is complete.

"He's going to fight through it. He's going to work his tail off and he'll be as good as new, maybe better than ever," Briles said.
