Cowboys Still Committed To Faltering Felix Jones

IRVING (September 19, 2012) -- Felix Jones fumbled away the opening kickoff, then tripped while running alone after a short catch on the final play for the Dallas Cowboys.

Those were the bookend plays in the previous game for the former first-round draft pick who has only one rushing attempt for no gain so far this season.

While Jones isn't having the kind of explosive plays the Cowboys want to see, coach Jason Garrett remained committed Wednesday to the primary backup running back returning kickoffs.

Garrett says Jones has a "pretty darn good" track record making plays on offense and in the kicking game.

The running back from Arkansas was the only Cowboys rookie to score in his first three games, including a 98-yard kickoff return. But that was four years ago.
