(May 24, 2012) -- Crawford is heading to the state tournament in Austin next week, and it didn't need to sweat it out in the regional final.
The Lady Pirates score eight runs in the second inning on their way to a 17-1 blowout victory over Tom Bean.
In a matchup between the 5th ranked Lady Tomcats and the 6th ranked Lady Pirates, Crawford struck first, scoring three runs in the first inning.
After going up 11-0 after two innings, the Lady Pirates continued to pour on the runs.
Crawford now awaits the pairings for next week's 2A state semifinal at Red & Charline McCombs Field at the University of Texas. They will play on Wednesday, May 30, at either 3:00 pm or 6:00 pm.
