Dvorsky Wins Minor League Honor

(September 5, 2012) -- The Great Falls Voyagers announced Monday night that Joseph Dvorsky has won the 2012 Jim Brewer Cup. The award, named after former Voyager Pitching Coach and Chicago Cub and LA Dodger pitcher Jim Brewer, recognizes the best pitcher on each year's team as chosen by the fans and coaches of the Voyagers.

Dvorsky, a member of the 2011 Pioneer League champion Voyagers, is the leader of a league-pacing Voyager bullpen. Dvorsky leads a deep stable of relievers in ERA at 2.20 and has racked up 32 strikeouts in 32.2 innings pitched. Over 21 appearances, Dvorsky has a 2-1 record with 5 saves.

Dvorsky is in the second year with the Voyagers, after being drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 35th round in 2011 out of Texas State. Prior to TSU, Dvorsky pitched two years with MCC. Dvorsky played at Reicher, and won a state championship in 2006.
