Eastern Michigan Football Player Shot To Death

YPSILANTI, Mich. (October 18, 2013)--Eastern Michigan University football player Demarius Reed was found shot to death early Friday in the hallway of an apartment complex.

Authorities have launched an off-campus homicide investigation.

Ypsilanti Police Sgt. Thomas Eberts said Reed’s roommate found the player’s body at around 7:15 a.m. Friday.

The football team's website listed Reed as a junior from Chicago.

The 5-foot-10-inch, 161-pound wide receiver played in six games this season, catching 15 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown.

He made 18 receptions for 171 yards in nine games last season.

He scored one touchdown.
