Former BU Standout Jackson Injured In NBA Summer League

ORLANDO (July 5, 2014) Former Baylor standout guard Pierre Jackson injured his right achilles in an NBA Summer League game for the Philadelphia 76ers. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the initial diagnosis per the team is a ruptured achilles.

Jackson was a second-round pick in the 2013 draft and led the NBA Development League in scoring averaging 29.1 points per game for the Idaho Stampede. He was never called up by New Orleans and left midway through the season to play in Turkey.

His rights were traded from the Pelicans to Philadelphia in exchange for Russ Smith during last Thursday's draft.

Jackson led Baylor and the Big 12 conference in scoring and assists during his senior season.
