Belton (September 13, 2012) -- University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golfer Kelly Gonyea has been named American Southwest Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for her performance in UMHB’s opening tournament of the fall.
Gonyea, a junior from Harker Heights High School, finished third individually after firing a 78-74=152 at the Lady Bulldog Fall Classic earlier this week. Gonyea’s performance helped lead the Cru women to a second-place team finish at 314-310=624.
The UMHB women’s golf team will return to action with the only home tournament of the fall in two weeks. The Cru will host the UMHB Fall Invitational at Wildflower Country Club in Temple on September 24th and 25th.
