(October 28, 2013) Former Shoemaker standout and UTEP quarterback Jameill Showers will miss his anticipated return to College Station with a separated shoulder. Miners head coach Sean Kugler made the announcement at Monday's press conference.
Showers suffered the injury in the second quarter of Saturday's loss against Rice. The injury was initially ruled a third-degree separation.
“He’s got a separated shoulder and will be out for an extended period of time," said Kugler. "I would hope he’ll come back [this season] but I don’t think that’s the case right now.”
On the year, Showers has thrown for 1,263 yards and 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has also ran for 4 TDs.
The former Shoemaker Grey Wolf transferred from Texas A&M last summer after losing out the starting quarterback battle to Johnny Manziel.
Sophomore Blaire Sullivan will get the start against the Aggies.
