Harker Heights Athletes Sign With Colleges

(April 30, 2012) -- Three Harker Heights athletes inked Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers in college on Monday.

Knights goalkeeper Nick Merutka will be staying close to home, signing with Mary Hardin-Baylor. Merutka earned District 12-5A Goalkeeper MVP honors the past two seasons. He broke his own school record for saves in a season with 164 this year, including a season-high 19 saves against A&M Consolidated on March 24.

Taylor Bean will be swimming for McMurry University next fall, while teammate Daniel Lee signed with Hood College.
