Henry 3-Pointers Lift Kimball Over Yates

AUSTIN (March 10, 2012) -- Torrey Henry made two 3-pointers in the final 29 seconds, his only field goals of the game, sending Dallas Kimball to the Class 4A state championship Saturday with a 78-75 win over Houston Yates.

Kimball's Shannon Lilly Jr. scored 27 points (34-5), sinking two free throws with 6.1 seconds left for the final points of the game. Yates had a last chance to force overtime but Damyean Dotsons' 3-pointer bounced off the rim.

Kimball trailed 75-70 when Henry made his first 3-pointer from the right corner. His second came 17 seconds later from the same spot. Yates (33-5) then turned the ball over on an errant crosscourt pass, giving the ball back to Kimball to set up the final free throws for a three-point lead.

Yates drops to 3A next season.
