The McLennan Highlassies defeated the Cisco Lady Wranglers 75-65 Saturday afternoon at The Highlands.
MCC built a 10-point lead at 15-5 with 10:49 to play in the first half. Cisco fought back, cutting the lead to two, 19-17, with 7:34 on the clock. The Highlassies extended the lead to nine but the Lady Wranglers cut the lead to three at the break, 31-28.
The Highlassies extended the lead back to double digits at 44-34 with 12:57 to play in the game. Cisco cut the lead to six two minutes later but MCC pulled away again, leading by as many as 13 down the stretch en route to the win.
Sondra Flippin led the Highlassies with 18 points and Dominique Taylor scored 14. Shanice Davis and Cha'Zaye Wright added 12 and 11, respectively.
MCC returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Southwestern Christian. The women's game will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
