(November 28, 2012) -- The McLennan Highlassies fell to the Kilgore Lady Rangers 61-56 tonight in Kilgore.
It was a close battle through the first half. Kilgore built a six-point lead with 9:05 remaining in the half. But MCC fought back, taking the 27-25 lead into the locker room.
The Highlassies extended the lead five early in the second half. The Lady Rangers used a 15-0 run in the next three minutes to take the first double-digit lead of the game, 42-32. MCC responded with an 11-2 run to cut the lead to one with 7:13 remaining in the game. Kilgore increased the lead to eight with 32 seconds to go and the Highlassies were unable to recover.
Dominique Taylor, Cha'Zaye Wright and Shanice Davis led MCC with 13 points each.
The Highlassies return to action on Saturday, hosting Blinn at 2 p.m.
