Highlassies Take Down Cisco

(January 30, 2013) -- The McLennan Highlassies moved to 4-2 in conference play with a 76-59 win over the Cisco Lady Wranglers Wednesday in Cisco.

The game was tight throughout the first half. MCC led 25-24 with 6:25 to play in the half. The Highlassies used a 10-0 run to pull away, taking the 35-24 lead, it's largest of the half. Cisco fought back to cut the lead to seven at the break, 44-37.

MCC extended the lead back to double digits, 49-39, with 14:10 remaining in the game. The Lady Wranglers cut the lead to five but the Highlassies responded with a 9-0 to break the game open, 63-49. MCC continued to pull away down the stretch en route to the victory.

Shanice Davis led the Highlassies with 16 points and Cha'Zaye Wright added 13.

MCC returns to action on Saturday, traveling to face Southwestern Christian in Terrell. Women's action begins at 2 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:30 p.m.
