(January 7, 2013)--Baylor regained the No. 1 spot in The Associated Press women's basketball poll Monday.

Coach Kim Mulkey's team received 32 first-place votes Monday, two days after then-No. 1 Connecticut lost to Notre Dame.

The Lady Bears were the top choice in the preseason and had a run of 21 straight weeks atop the poll before a neutral site loss to Stanford in November.

Notre Dame jumped up three spots to No. 2 after its one-point victory over UConn.

The Huskies fell to third.

Duke, the only unbeaten team left in Division I, was fourth and Stanford fifth.

The Cardinal are followed by Kentucky, California, Penn State, Tennessee and Maryland.

Oklahoma State had the biggest drop, falling eight spots to No. 21 after losing twice this week, including its game against Baylor.

Miami and Iowa State entered the Top 25 at 24th and 25th, while Nebraska and Arkansas fell out.
