WACO (March 23, 2013) -- Don't be surprised if the Baylor women's basketball team comes out rusty in its NCAA tournament opener on Sunday.
The Lady Bears haven't played in 13 days since winning the Big 12 tournament title. But, even a little rust shouldn't stand in the way of a first-round win.
Top-seeded Baylor will host Prairie View A&M, which needed quadruple overtime to beat Mississippi Valley State 100-87 in the SACC championship.
Prairie View A&M is just 17-14 on the season and is 0-14 all-time against Baylor.
These two teams met in the opening round of the 2011 tournament, a game Baylor won 66-30.
The Lady Bears have outscored the Panthers 1,278-621 over the 14 games, averaging 91.3 points per contest while limiting Prairie View A&M to just 44.4 points an outing.
Sunday's game is set to tip off at 6:30 pm CT.
