(July 11, 2014) A limited number of single-game tickets for Baylor football’s inaugural season at McLane Stadium will go on sale next month, school officials announced today. The 2013 Big 12 champion Bears open their season Aug. 31 vs. SMU at 6:30 p.m. CT, the debut of the state-of-the-art stadium located on the Brazos River that will be televised nationally on FS1.
On Aug. 1, Bear Foundation members at the Golden Grizzly level and higher will be allowed to purchase single-game tickets (limit of 4 per game) with all other Foundation members having a crack at the remaining single-game tickets starting Aug 4.
Beginning Aug. 6, any remaining single-game tickets, as well as all general admission seats on the South end zone berm, will go on sale to the general public. Berm seats will be priced at $30 each and will be available for all six of the Bears’ 2014 home games. The berm seating is located on the grassy area in front of the videoboard. The berm has its own entrance/exit, concessions and restroom facilities. Fans with berm tickets will not have access to the stadium area.
School officials announced last spring that season tickets for the 2014 season were sold-out, marking the 10th time in the last 11 years season sales for Baylor football games increased. A school-record 28,000 season tickets were sold with the last of those recently going to Baylor fans that were on a waiting list for 2015 season football tickets and joined the Baylor Bear Foundation. The Bears’ 2014 season ticket record does not include more than 8,000 seats reserved for Baylor students at McLane Stadium.
“The success of the football program under Coach Briles coupled with the excitement of opening the finest collegiate football stadium in the nation have created intense demand for Baylor Football,” said Vice President and Director of Athletics Ian McCaw. “Selling out McLane Stadium on a season ticket basis is a credit to the passion and support of Baylor Nation. We are grateful for their commitment and enthusiasm and look forward to having a dynamic gameday environment throughout the 2014 season.”
Fans who are interested in securing a place on the 2015 season ticket wait list may do so by calling the Baylor Athletic Ticket Sales Center at 254-710-6441.
Head coach Art Briles enters his seventh season in Waco and his 2014 Baylor squad is ranked in the Top 10 by various national publications. The Bears return 51 lettermen from last year’s Big 12 championship that won a school-record 11 games and played in the Fiesta Bowl, the school’s record fourth straight bowl appearance.
