MCC Baseball Sweeps Howard

WACO (February 2, 2013) -- The McLennan baseball team swept the Howard Hawks Saturday at Bosque River Ballpark.

MCC defeated Howard 5-1 in game one with Trey Wall picking up the win on the mound and Kody Hessemer getting the save. Matt Hilston and Cole Calder both recorded doubles and an RBI. Andrew Rhodes hit and double and Reid Coover hit a triple. Caleb Williams also picked up an RBI.

Enrique Oquendo picked up the 7-6 win in the nightcap. Hilston led the Highlanders at the plate going 2-3 with two triples and an RBI. Zach Valenzuela was 3-4 with three RBIs. Calder recorded a triple and Justin Perales had a double and two RBIs. Tyler Floyd was 2-4 with an RBI.

MCC returns to action next Saturday, hosting Angelina for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
