(October 22, 2012) -- The McLennan Highlanders shot 296-292 – 588 to sit in second place after day one of the NJCAA Division I National Championship Preview at the par-72, 7,349-yard Rawls Course in Lubbock.

Odessa is in first place with 287-294 – 581, followed by MCC in second and Indian Hills in third with 298-293 – 591.

Andrew Hans shot 70-73 – 143 to lead the Highlanders and is tied for third place.

Other MCC scores: Chapman Herwood, tied for sixth, 76-68 – 144; Jake Blenden, tied for 21st, 75-75 – 150; Andrew Johnson, tied for 26th, 75-76 – 151; Ryan Beatty, tied for 28th, 77-75 – 152; and Kyle Southard, tied for 32nd, 75-78 – 153.
