MCC Swept By Cisco

(March 28, 2012) -- The McLennan Highlanders dropped both games of today's doubleheader with the Cisco Wranglers at Bosque River Ballpark.

Cisco needed an extra inning to defeat the Highlanders 2-1 in the first game.

MCC began the scoring with one run in the bottom of the third as Brett Thornell singled, moved to second on a single by Ty Marlow and came around to score on a Cisco error.

The Wranglers tied the game with one run in the sixth as A.J. Mojica singled, advanced around to third on ground outs by Beto Rodriguez and Alvaro Moreno, and scored on a single by Nick Gibert.

Cisco sealed the win with one run in the top of the eighth. Cody Tillotson singled and was replaced by pinch runner Heath Herrington. Herrington moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Mojica, advanced to third on a Highlander error and scored on a double by Moreno.

The Wranglers defeated the Highlanders 3-2 in the nightcap.

Cisco got on the board with one run in the top of the first as Rodriguez doubled, moved to third on a single by Moreno and scored on a ground out by Gibert.

Dalton Vannatta's solo home run in the bottom of the first tied the game.

The Wranglers added two runs in the fourth. Jake Armstrong and Mark Davis both singled. Eric Tate drew a walk to load the bases. Armstrong scored on a single by Corey Taylor and Davis scored on a single by Herrington.

MCC rounded out the scoring with one run in the fifth as Thornell doubled, moved to third on a fly out by Marlow and scored on a ground out by Matt Hilston.

The two teams will complete the four-game series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday in Cisco.
