QB Ash Solid, Defense Struggling For No. 12 Texas

AUSTIN (September 20, 2012) -- The Texas Longhorns are undefeated, rising in the national rankings and settling into an off week feeling good about their quarterback and puzzled by their defense.

Over the first three games, former Belton standout and UT quarterback David Ash has shown he can both manage a solid win and deliver the big plays with his arm and feet. The Longhorns receivers are doing their share with several long touchdowns last week against Mississippi.

If anything is bothering coach Mack Brown, it's a tendency by the defense to give up big-play touchdowns.

Texas' next three games are on the road at Oklahoma State, at home against No. 8 West Virginia and in Dallas against No. 6 Oklahoma.
