Rangers Draft China Spring Pitcher

(June 6, 2012) -- China Spring pitcher and Baylor signee Sterling Wynn was drafted in the 36th round of Wednesday's Major League Baseball Draft. Wynn, the 90th-best prospect in Texas by Perfect Game, led the Cougars to the 3A regional final this past season.

The Texas Rangers selected 25 players today in the final day of the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, which included rounds 16 through 40.

The Rangers selected 43 players overall in this year’s draft. The 43 players include 26 pitchers (18 right-handed, 8 left-handed), 9 outfielders, 5 infielders, and 3 catchers. Texas selected 24 college players and made 19 high school picks.
