(August 6, 2013) -- Former Marlin Bulldog and San Diego Chargers wide receiver Danario Alexander suffered a torn right ACL during training camp practice on Tuesday. The team confirming the injury Tuesday.
Alexander has had a history of knee injuries, having torn his ACL three times while at Missouri. He went undrafted out of Mizzou in 2010.
After two seasons with the St. Louis Rams, Alexander signed a free agent deal with the Chargers last October. Alexander emerged as a top target for Phillip Rivers, catching 37 passes for 658 yards and seven touchdowns.
The 25-year-old signed a tender with the club as a restricted free agent and was scheduled to earn $1.323 million in non-guaranteed base salary. Alexander was projected to start opposite Malcom Floyd.
