Alexander has had a history of knee injuries, having torn his ACL three times while at Missouri. He went undrafted out of Mizzou in 2010.

The 25-year-old signed a tender with the club as a restricted free agent and was scheduled to earn $1.323 million in non-guaranteed base salary. Alexander was projected to start opposite Malcom Floyd.
