Robinson Rally Falls Short In 3A State Semis

(June 6, 2012) -- There will be no return trip to the 3A state title game for the Robinson Rockets.

Texarakana Pleasant Grove jumped out to a 4-run first inning and held on for a 4-2 victory in the 3A state semifinal Wednesday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin.

Trailing by two runs in the bottom of the seventh, Robinson was able to load the bases with no outs. But the Rockets were unable to push across a run home.

Robinson finishes the season at 29-3. Pleasant Grove will take on West in the 3A state championship Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
