(July 28, 2013) -- Harker Heights product and former University of Memphis forward D.J. Stephens has accepted an invitation to play with the Miami Heat in the NBA's Orlando Summer League.
Stephens went undrafted in Thursday's NBA Draft. He will begin summer league play with the Heat on July 7 against the Utah Jazz.
Stephens is also considering playing with the Heat or the Toronto Raptors in the Las Vegas Summer League later in July.
The former Knight was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Year this past season. He was the league's top shot blocker, averaging 2.26 per game, and ranked among the top 40 nationally. Stephens also lead the Tigers in rebounding with 6.7 per game.
