LUBBOCK (November 12, 2013) Texas Tech hasn't had much to be upbeat about during the final weeks of the past two seasons.
The Red Raiders are hoping to change that this year. But after dropping the last three games after a 7-0 start some players might be concerned about the past repeating itself.
Beginning in 2011, the Red Raiders are 2-12 from game eight onward, including the current three-game skid.
The challenge appears tougher Saturday against No. 4 Baylor (8-0, 5-0), the Big 12's rushing leader with the conference's top two running backs. Texas Tech (7-3, 4-3) has given up 277, 281 and 291 yards on the ground in its three straight losses.
Texas Tech's defensive coordinator Matt Wallerstedt said players' memories of the past seasons' finishes could be a mental block.
