Texas Tech's Kilgo/Adams Lose Round Of 16 Match At NCAA Championship

URBANA, Ill. (May 24, 2013) -- Former Midway standout Kenna Kilgo's run at the NCAA Doubles Championship is over.

Her and doubles partner Samantha Adams fell to No. 1-ranked Kate Fuller and Silvia Garcia of Georgia in the Round of 16, 6-4, 7-5, Friday afternoon.

Kilgo and Adams finish the year with a 23-6 record.

Kilgo and Adams made history Thursday by becoming the first Lady Raiders to ever win an NCAA tournament match in doubles. The duo upset Vanderbilt’s 12th-ranked team of Courtney Colton and Lauren Mira, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.

At Midway, Kilgo won the Class 4A title in girls’ singles and also teamed with brother Kolby to snag the mixed doubles championship. Kolby plays tennis for UT-San Antonio.
