UMHB Baseball Player Named To D3Baseball.com Team Of The Week

Belton (February 19, 2013) -- University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball player Zack Whiddon has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for the week ending February 17th. Whiddon earned the honor just three games into his collegiate career.

Whiddon, a freshman designated hitter from Katy Taylor High School, batted .455 in three starts for the Cru last week. He scored five runs and drove in three more. Whiddon drove in the game-winning run in Friday night’s win over Hendrix before scoring the game-winning run in the opening game of Saturday’s doubleheader. He slugged .636 and posted an on-base percentage of .538 in those games.

The Cru is 2-2 on the season. UMHB will return to action with a 4:00 PM non-conference game against Trinity on Tuesday.
