BELTON (March 24, 2013) -- Inside the Salem Civic Center, a small group of Mary Hardin Baylor fans went wild as the Cru punched its ticket to the final four
But the most excited fans were 2000 miles away.
“We were road tripping back from Arizona for spring break, so we couldn’t watch the game…we just had some energy to get out and it’s for our Cru,” said UMHB junior Kyle Morgan.
Clearly, UMHB students Ryan Sewell and Morgan aren’t shy about their love for the Cru.
“I love watching them,” Sewell said.
“For the first game of the tournament we had about 20 guys painted up, afros, swords, just getting pumped up for the game,” Morgan said.
Crusaders’ freshman Braxton Tucker knows how crazy things can get; Morgan is his roommate.
But Tucker isn’t the only player who feeds off these superfans.
And as the Cru head to Atlanta and the national championship, these two will be right there cheering them on.
“I think they’re going to win it all,” Sewell said.
And if the Cru wins the national championship, there will be at least two fans dancing their way from Atlanta back to Belton.
“I’ll run back to Texas,” said Morgan.
