UMHB Men's Soccer Falls To Trinity

BELTON (October 7, 2012) -- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team could not find enough offense to overcome a 2-0 halftime deficit and fell to Trinity University 3-0 Sunday evening in San Antonio. The Cru fell to 6-3-1 on the season while the Tigers improved to 12-0-1.

Trinity outshot UMHB 11-3 in the first half of play with Jonny Lawson and Tom Carwile both scoring for the Tigers. UMHB responded strong in the second half as each team recorded five shots, but Trinity was the only team to score as Brian Hines put his shot in the net for the Tigers.

John Williams led the Cru with three shots, while Tyler Wicks recorded two of his own. Brandon Stegmeyer recorded six saves in the match and allowed three goals.

The UMHB men will then return home next weekend for conference matches against Texas-Dallas at 3 p.m. on Friday and Ozarks at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
