UMHB Women's Golf Ranked 4th In Nation

Belton (March 13, 2013) -- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golf team held steady at #4 in the country in this week’s Golf World/WGCA Division III Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The UMHB women totaled 344 points in this week’s poll to match their final ranking for the third straight poll.

Methodist University retains the top spot this week with 15 first-place votes and 399 total points. Washington-St. Louis is ranked second and Centre College comes in at #3 in the poll. The Cru is one of three American Southwest Conference teams mentioned in the latest poll. Schreiner University is ranked 12th with 215 total points and U.T.-Tyler is ranked 15th with 164 total points.

The Cru women opened the spring schedule by beating every other Division III program in the UMHB Spring Classic two weeks ago. UMHB finished second overall, falling 11 strokes behind Redlands Community College’s 311 total. The Cru women will return to action with the Jekyll Island Invitational on March 15-17.
